The Buddhist practice of insight meditation is a journey of understanding our bodies, our minds, and our lives - of seeing the true nature of experience clearly. For those just starting out, this audiotape, based on the book Seeking the Heart of Wisdom by Joseph Goldstein and Jack Kornfield, will be a welcome companion along the way.
Specific exercises and practices are given, along with discussions of such topics as:
- Discovering the heart of meditation through the practice of conscious conduct,
concentration, and wisdom.
- How to meditate - including advice on overcoming the hindrances to practice,
ranging from doubt and fear to painful knees.
- How to integrate meditation practice with a life of responsible action and service.
The authors, Joseph Goldstein and Jack Kornfield, both received meditation training in Asia. They are co-founders of the Insight Meditation Center in Barre, Massachusetts.
