Twenty years before the fall of the Sioux nation, a nine-year-old boy named Black Elk experienced a vision of "the six great powers" that guide the universe - and the future that would await his people. Over 100 years later, that revelation continues to unfold. On Black Elk's Prayer and Vision, historian Ed McGaa looks back at the rich and fabled history of the Sioux people, and what Black Elk foresaw in the future for our world. Here is Black Elk's sweeping revelation in its entirety, interpreted with heartfelt words by a modern scholar of the Sioux legacy. Includes a complete retelling of Black Elk's final prayer.
