The origins of Sudoku are shrouded in mystery. Some claim that it is an ancient Japanese puzzle based on the forbidden teachings of an infamous group of martial artists, who would dazzle opponents with their logical finesse before chopping their legs off. Others trace it back to an eighteenth-century Swiss mathematician who invented it as a distraction from all those hilarious bloody cuckoo clocks.
