Understanding Biophotons

“A biophoton (from the Greek meaning “life” and meaning “light”) is a photon of non-thermal origin in the visible and ultraviolet spectrum emitted from a biological system."

"Biophotons are Ultra weak emissions of light radiated from the cells of all living things. A photon is a single particle of light. Plants, animals and humans generate up to 100 photons per second, per .15 square inches (1 sq. centimeter) of surface area. The light is too faint to be seen by the naked eye, but biophotons have been detected and verified using photomultiplier tubes.

Biophoton emissions will vary according to the functional state of the organism. If a disease such as cancer affects certain cells they will radiate a different photonic signature than healthy cells of the same type.

The chi energy flowing in our bodies’ energy channels (meridians) which according to Traditional Chinese Medicine regulates our body functions may be related to node lines of the organism’s biophoton field. The “prana” of Indian Yoga physiology may be a similar regulating energy force that has a basis in weak, coherent electromagnetic biofields.

According to a leading researcher of biophotons, German biophysicist Fritz-Albert Popp, light is constantly being absorbed and remitted by DNA molecules within each cell's nucleus. These biophotons create a dynamic, coherent web of light. A system that could be responsible for chemical reactions within the cells, cellular communication throughout the organism, and the overall regulation of the biological system, including embryonic development into a predetermined form. ".

First discovered in 1923 by Russian medical scientist Professor Alexander G.Gurvich (who named them “mitogenetic rays”) and in the 1930s widely researched in Europe and the USA, biophotons have been rediscovered and backed since the 1970s by ample experimental and theoretical evidence by European scientists. In 1974 German biophysicist Fritz-Albert Popp has proved their existence, their origin from the DNA and later their coherence (laser-like nature), and has developed biophoton theory to explain their possible biological role and the ways in which they may control biochemical processes, growth, differentiation etc. Popp’s biophoton theory leads to many startling insights into the life processes and may well provide one of the major elements of a future theory of life and holistic medical practice based on such an approach. The importance of the discovery has been confirmed by eminent scientists such as Herbert Froehlich and Nobel laureate Ilya Prigogine. Since 1992, the International Institute of Biophysics, a network of research laboratories in more than 10 countries, based in Germany, is coordinating research in this field which promises rapid development in the next decade.

An introduction to human biophoton emission

"A study published in the Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology in 1993, titled, "Artificial sunlight irradiation induces ultraweak photon emission in human skin fibroblasts," discovered that when light from an artificial sunlight source was applied to fibroblasts from either normal subjects or with the condition xeroderma pigmentosum, characterized by deficient DNA repair mechanisms, it induced far higher emissions of ultraweak photons (10-20 times) in the xeroderma pigmentosum group. The researchers concluded from this experiment that "These data suggest that xeroderma pigmentosum cells tend to lose the capacity of efficient storage of ultraweak photons, indicating the existence of an efficient intracellular photon trapping system within human cells."[15] More recent research has also identified measurable differences in biophoton emission between normal and melanoma cells.[16] "

An Introduction to Human Biophoton Emission

Biophotons as neural communication signals demonstrated by in situ

Light is not only what brightens up our world by day and makes us see the things around us, light is also produced by our own cells and forms a major component of man's inner environment and a non-material part of our bodies connecting us with the outer environment

We are light Beings (by which photons dissipate into lower orders of frequencies of the entire electromagnetic spectrum having profound regulatory functions. We are nourished by light, and operate by the “drums of light.” The healthy state from a quantum perspective is one of synchrony, and the disordered state one of various forms of desynchronization. Our bodies are inherently coupled with the EM environment of mother earth, we are part of her EM grid.”
Guenter Albbrecht-Buehier, Ph.D.

All living organisms, including humans, emit a low-intensity glow that cannot be seen by the naked eye, but can be measured by photomultipliers that amplify the weak signals several million times and enable the researchers to register it in the form of a diagram. As long as they live, cells and whole organisms give off a pulsating glow with a mean intensity of several up to a few ten thousand photons per second and square centimeter.

This corresponds to a candle-light seen from 15 miles distance and is tens to hundreds of millions times weaker than daylight.

This glow can also be made visible by means of a CCD camera whose input of differences in brightness is then transformed by a computer into colors displayed on a video screen. Because of its low intensity, this cellular glow, also known as biophoton emission, is often referred to as ultra-weak cell radiation, or ultra-weak bioluminescence.

George Lakhovsky published his findings in his book The Secret of Life in 1929, in the book’s introduction, he writes: What is life? It is the dynamic equilibrium of all cells, the harmony of multiple radiations which react upon one another. What is disease? It is the oscillatory disequilibrium of cells, originating from external causes. More

At the same time Royal Raymond Rife was conducting his own medical trials with his ‘frequency instrument’, after he realised when looking at cancer cells under a microscope, they changed their size and form and exposing them to certain frequencies of radio waves they were destroyed. Rife went on to Help 1,000 patients withcancer before the medical industry raided his labs, destroyed his machines and he was silenced More

Its spectral range of frequencies (colors) extends from 200-800 nanometers, i.e., from UV-C and UV-A through the whole visible range into the infrared part of the spectrum.

It should not be confounded with the "bioluminescence" of fire-flies, glow-worms, deep sea fishes, and rotting wood which is much stronger, has different properties, and is clearly of chemical origin.

Biophoton Communication: Can Cells Talk Using Light?
A growing body of evidence suggests that the molecular machinery of life emits and absorb photons. Now one biologist has evidence that this light is a new form of cellular communication. More

Properties of biophoton emission

After having shown that biophoton emission is a general property of all plant and animal life, Popp's team set themselves the task to show that the glow organisms gave off was not just caused by chlorophyll, thermal influence "spontaneous chemiluminescence", or some other "contamination effect".

In the 1970's, the American biochemist H.H. Seliger and the Russian biophysicist A.I. Zhuravlev had postulated that bioluminescence originated from occasional losses of the excitation energy that usually is used up in chemical processes, and therefore had no biological significance whatsoever.

Revealing the light within

Today we know from the work of Popp's group and that of other scientists that biophoton emission correlates strongly with all the life activities of the organism by which it is emitted, and therefore very probably fulfills some biological function(s).

.Part 1 - Biophotons .

Biophoton measurements on humans

The emission of biophotons has not only been established for practically all plant and animal organisms.

Although only a few such investigations have been realized up to now, we now know that weak, but highly coherent light is also emitted by the human body. While some earlier measurements of human biophoton emission have been made in the Soviet Union, the first Western investigations were carried out by the New York team of Richard Dobrin and John Pierrakos in the late 1970's.

Becker, double-nominee for the Nobel Prize in Physics, compares in The Body Electric the meridians of acupuncture to electrical transmission lines, noting that they use direct current to transmit signals of injury. In Cross Currents, The Perils of Electropollution, he compares electromagnetic resonance in the human body to MRIs, noting that the body’s innate resonances could be used to explain health problems and heal them. Becker’s ideas and words were visionary. We now know that communication between cells of the body is facilitated by biophotons, biological light particles, which represent the quantum (smallest unit) of electromagnetic radiation.

They found emissions of some hundred photons per second from the chest in the UV and visible range of the spectrum.

Some test persons were able to increase the emission up to 100 percent by using breathing techniques and deliberate tremblings. In 1989 and 1990, a group of British researchers obtained more than three times higher intensities in the spectral range of 420-650 nm from hands, trunk and forehead. The palms showed a much higher emission (500 photons per second) than trunk and forehead.

The emission at the particular regions of the body remained quite regular, but the team found indications for temporal variations with a maximum in the evening.

In the 1990's, systematic long-term investigations of human biophoton emission with a specially developed whole-body biophoton-counting equipment were started in Popp's lab, mainly conducted by Sophie Cohen (Cohen & Popp, 1997, 1998; Cohen, Popp & ran, 2003).

.Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp Biophotons

The most interesting results were the findings on the rhythmicity of the emission, the significance of right-left asymmetries, and the non-local effects of treatments on the emission. Most interesting is the recent finding that the changes of the biophoton emission after some treatment were not only observed at the position of treatment, but also appeared at other places of the body. These non-local effects seem to demonstrate that the local biophoton emission is an expression of a global biophoton field of the whole organism"

Human beings: Beings of Light

In his epic masterpiece “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back”, visionary George Lucas’ character Master Yoda spoke these words to a young Luke Skywalker : “Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter.”

Light is the language of life. Biophotons hold the keys to the quality of life of all living beings.

Nutritional Relevance
Based on research with his “biophoton meter,” Popp found that the emissions from healthy people are significantly stronger than those from people who are ill. He also saw that other important sources of biophotons, in addition to DNA, are RNA and other forms of macromolecules, including chlorophyll, enzymes and hemoglobin, according to Dr. Gabriel Cousens, author of “Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine.” In his biophoton evaluations of various foods, Popp found that organic foods growing in the wild emitted twice as many biophotons as cultivated organic crops, while the latter gave off five times as much biophotonic energy as commercially grown foods. He also discovered that cooked or irradiated food emitted virtually no biophotons.

Tristan Anderson, a certified holistic health practitioner trained in nutrition, says wild dandelion greens, nettles, grasses, mushrooms, nuts and berries rank high on the list of such foods. The key to maximizing the biophotonic value in wild plant foods, as well as other organically grown foods, is eating them raw, preferably within two or three hours after they’ve been picked

After wild plants, the next best source of biophotons are freshly picked, organically grown fruits and vegetables, according to Heinz R. Gisel, author of “In Foodture We Trust.” Source

"Particle communication has been demonstrated in the study of quantum physics. A basic principle of this science is that all parts of the universe are connected to, and in communication with, all other parts. This communication is instantaneous and freely available to those entities to perceive it. Quantum theory was first advanced by Max Planck at the end of the 19th century, and was further refined by Bohr and now Nassim Haramein and the principle of the interrelatedness of all waves and particles in the universe correlates with what has been described as God, Universal Mind, Vacuum, Awareness or Consciousness"

Reported Effect of Biophoton Therapy

Biophoton therapy is the application of light to particular areas of the skin for healing purposes. As light, or photons, bombards the skin, our tissues transform it into electrical energy, which is transmitted to the brain through our nervous system. By stimulating certain areas of the body with specific quantities of light, biophoton therapy can help reduce pain or even aid in the healing process.

Energy is necessary for any life form to exist. When this energy becomes disrupted, a number of bodily functions can be affected. Through the use of biophoton therapy, this energy can be rebalanced and strengthened, thus alleviating and improving numerous conditions. Since body and mind are connected through this energy, not only are there palatable physical improvements, but this therapy can also aid in achieving a greater mental balance as well.

1. Increases vascularity (circulation) by increasing the formation of NEW Capillaries, which are additional Blood Vessels that replace damaged ones. NEW Capillaries SPEED-UP the Healing Process by carrying MORE Oxygen as well as MORE Nutrients needed for Healing and they can also carry MORE Waste Products away.

2. Stimulates the production of Collagen. Collagen is the MOST common Protein found in the body. Collagen is the ESSENTIAL Protein used to REPAIR damaged Tissue and to replace old Tissue. It is the substance, that holds Cells together and has a HIGH degree of elasticity. By increasing Collagen Production, LESS Scar Tissue is formed at the damaged site.

3. Stimulates the release of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the major carrier of Energy to ALL Cells. Increases in ATP allow Cells to accept Nutrients FASTER and get rid of Waste Products FASTER by increasing the Energy Level in the Cell. ALL Food turns into ATP, before it is utilized by the Cells. ATP provides the Chemical Energy, that drives the Chemical Reaction of the Cell.

4. Increases Lymphatic System activity. Edema, which is the swelling or natural Splinting Process of the Body, has two basic components. The first is a liquid part, which can be evacuated by the Blood System and the second is comprised of the Proteins, which have to be evacuated by the Lymphatic System.Research has shown that the Lymph Vessel diameter and the flow of the Lymph System can be DOUBLED with the use of Biophoton Light Therapy. The venous diameter and the arterial diameters can also be increased. This means that both parts of edema (liquid and protein) can be evacuated at a MUCH FASTER rate to relieve swelling.

5. Increases RNA and DNA synthesis. This helps damaged Cells to be replaced MORE promptly.

6. Reduces the excitability of Nervous Tissue. The Biophotons of Light Energy enter the Body as Negative Ions. This calls upon the Body to send Positive Ions like Calcium among others to go to the area being treated. These Ions assist in firing the Nerves, thereby relieving Pain.

7. Stimulates Fibroblastic Activity, which aids in the Repair Process. Fibroblasts are present in Connective Tissue and are capable of forming Collagen Fibers.

8. Increases Phagocytosis, which is the process of scavenging for and ingesting dead or degenerated Cells by Phagocyte Cells for the purpose of clean-up. This is an IMPORTANT part of the Infection Fighting Process. Destruction of the Infection and clean-up must occur before the Healing Process can take place.

9. Induces a thermal-like Effect in the Tissue, the Biophoton Light raises the Temperature of the Cells, although there is NO heat produced from the Tubes themselves.

10. Stimulates Tissue Granulation and Connective Tissue Projections, which are part of the Healing Process of Wounds, Ulcers or Inflamed Tissue.

11. Stimulates Acetylcholine release. Acetylcholine causes Cardiac Inhibition, Vasodilation, Gastrointestinal Peristalsis and other Parasympathetic Effects.

Currently there are about 40 scientific groups worldwide working on biophotons. The largest association is the International Institute of Biophysics http://www.lifescientists.de/ib_000e_.htm in Neuss (Germany), founded to investigate and understand, via an interdisciplinary approach, living systems.

Our bodies are not only chemical but electromagnetic as well. And if you increase the electromagnetic energy field, the chi or prana, by boosting biophoton activity, you may encourage the body to heal itself.

"In absolute laymen's terms, as I understand it, our DNA needs light in order to operate properly. It absorbs light and puts it to use to make our body work. When we're stressed we give off some of this light and eventually need it to be replenished. When carcinogens — like benzo[a]pyrene — get in our system, they absorb light at one frequency and spit it out into our system as another. This becomes a big problem when it's the 380nm frequency because when this frequency gets scrambled, our bodies can't perform photorepair. As a result, we ultimately follow the fate of the patients with xermoderma pigmentosum (above)."

In 2003 NASA-Goodwin found 10 Hz square wave stimulation caused neural tissue regeneration @ 4x baseline, w/ better 3-D orientation; cell DNA signature turned - OFF - 120+ sets of maturation genes and turned - ON - 120+ sets of developmental genes. Over 100 sets of nucleic DNA reverted from maturation to developmental. NASA didn't dig deep enough to explain why cell regeneration QUADRUPLED under 10 Hz pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) or why the genetic effects occurred ONLY at 10 Hz pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF). However more ATP explains very well based upon the work of David Hood and the efficient demonstration by James Tong

WAVEFORM FREQUENCY RESONATOR

Rife discovered that every virus, bacterium, parasite and other pathogen is particularly sensitive to a specific "frequency" of sound and can be destroyed by intensifying that frequency until it literally explodes - like an intense musical note that can shatter a wine glass! To "disintegrate" the microbes, Rife invented a Beam Ray machine (now known as a Rife machine)

"It’s important for us to know that biophoton signals are blocked when we’re under the kind of subliminal stress caused by electropollution. The bottom line is that electropollution is continually Disturbing—whether you know it or not—your sympathetic nervous system, which elevates your fight-and-flight response that in turn raises cortisol, your stress hormone. Fluctuations in cortisol lead to numerous health disorders ranging from belly fat and thinning skin to even more serious health problems like erratic sleep patterns, accelerated aging, reduced immunity, cardiovascular disease, blood sugar ups and downs, autoimmune disease, and mood disturbances. For most all of us today, unnatural exposure to artificial frequencies is constant, and often unavoidable, due to the rapidly escalating wireless nature of our society within the past decade."
