Additional equipment for the Aura Camera and Aura Video

Web camera from 3com (www.3com.com) (www.365usa.com)
We recommend this web camera for use with Winaura Video System. You can easily get video pictures into the Winaura Video program. You only need a USB port at your computer.

Logitech Snappy
You can easily snaphot video pictures from any video sources (Videocam, VCR, etc.) and put them into your computer. Snapshots (not moving) as well as moving, continuing animations are possible. The most easiest and inexpensive possibility of creating auravideos in your computer or VCR. Order at: http://cf.play.com/play/snappy/

Tripod
For the auracamera we recommend a solid tripod for video cameras which can hold the weight of 5-6 kg of the camera.Video Regular camera tripods are generally not as sturdy as is needed. Be sure to get one with heavier duty legs like those designed for video cameras.

Black Matte Fabric Backdrop
Cotton is best—no shiny or glossy fabrics. The fabric should extend about a foot on each side and two feet above and below the subjects; face. We recommend a piece of 4x7 material.

Extra Lighting
We recommend two 75 watt indoor/outdoor floodlights. Buy the inexpensive ones, not the kind with thick glass or the Misers, because they have too narrow a beam. Use one light on each side.

Films
Films for making Polaroid photos like Fuji 100C or Polaroid Polacolor 100.

Extra AA Batteries
Do not buy rechargeable batteries, or batteries from mini markets or from any store where tun-over is low. Batteries which have sat on the shelf for a year or so won’t have much power left on them. This is very important because dead batteries result in very black photos. Batteries are inserted behind the basic Polaroid camera’s film pack.

Computer Printer (see also Tested Printers)
We recommend Cannon BJC 4300, a 9-pin parallel-port printer with one additional option of a color kit. We also recommend the
Panasonic Quiet Rider KXP 2135. The computer plug going to the camera must be a 25 pin male, bar type. Most printers come with two modes, fast speed and slow speed. The fast speed is handy if you have a long line of people waiting to have their photos taken. If the Citizen or Panasonic are not available, take the left hand plate and the power supply to any computer store and test the printers they have by printing out a status report.
